The Harry Awards & Annual Holiday Party
Celebrating Excellence in Our Community
The Harry Awards honor the best and brightest among the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce's Membership. It's unique they are nominated from their peers or the Community. We host the Harry Awards at the Annual Holiday Party in the first week of December each year.
Nominations open up in the third quarter of that year and are awarded at the Annual Holiday Party the 1st Thursday in December. We are partnering again this year to recognize two local businesses that make it easy to incorporate all the members of our community.

What are the criteria for the catagories
Criteria & Eligibility
• Nominations can be made by any individual or organization unless otherwise noted
• Citizen of the Year.
o Any individual age 16 and older is eligible for Citizen of the Year nomination.
o Accomplishments should be geared toward the betterment of the Harrisburg community.
o Excellence in professional and community leadership, as well as character & citizenship, will be considered.
• Small Business nominees
o 25 or fewer employees.
• Large Business nominees
o 26 or more employees.
• Woman of Excellence Nominations are for Individuals
o Fosters Community Relationships
o Demonstrates Impact
o Cultivates Support and Encouragement
• Accessibility in Action or Employment Inclusion

Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce Employees, Directors & members of the committee are not eligible for nomination.
The Accessibility in Action & Employment Inclusion Award will be selected by a separate committee assigned by DAC
How does a Person or Business Get Nominated
Any person or business can nominate a member. You can find our full list of members in our Business Directory. The business must be an active member at the time of the award (The first thursday in December). Just click on the Apply Button above this FAQ Section.
Return completed nomination forms by mail to PO Box 172, Harrisburg, SD, 57032, or by Email to Derek@harrisburgsdchamber.com no later than Monday November 16ᵗʰ, 2026.
The Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce will act as the selection committee and will review the submitted nomination forms.
You can be nominated in more than one category.
You will need a separate nomination form for each category you wish to have the nominee considered for.
Award recipients will be announced at the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Thursday, December 3ʳᵈ, 2026.
Apply with the Disability Awareness Council directly for Accessibility in Action or Employment Inclusion Awards.
Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce Employees, Directors & members of the committee are not eligible for nomination.
The Accessibility in Action & Employment Inclusion Award will be selected by a separate committee assigned by DAC.
Will I need a ticket to attend?
A ticket will be required to attend the Harry Awards and Annual Holiday Party.
